HERBAL FACE STEAM BATH

My mum used to do this for us when we weren't feeling well or if our skin had a bit of a break out. You can use a steam inhalation with any type of herbs depending on what kind of nourishment you are needing at the time. They help to open up the nasal passages, relieve congestion in the lungs and clear out the pores of the skin.

All you need is a bunch of herbs (can be dried or fresh), a large bowl of boiling water and a towel to place over your head to seal in the steam.

Simply pour the boiling water over your bowl of herbs and place a towel over your head and breath in. Don't get too close that it burns, you can test your best face position by using your hand first. Take nice big breaths in through your nose, letting your belly relax and breath out. As the water starts to cool a little you can use our outbreath to blow on the water to create a little more steam.

Try one of these dreamy steam combinations...

Garden Decongester | Peppermint, rosemary and thyme

Zesty sinus refresh | Lemon myrtle, lemon peel and lemongrass

Steam soother | Sage, mullein and lavender

You can mix any of these together based on what you have easily available in your pantry or garden. Herbs can be used fresh or dried.
